Thrust Vectoring Rocket Project
UBC Rocket's Thrust Vectoring Rocket (TVR) project aims to demonstrate active stabilization and controlled landing in university-level rocketry, pushing the boundaries of student aerospace engineering. This software-intensive project employs PID control for active stabilization, with ongoing research into advanced methods like machine learning to enhance performance.
The team successfully integrated the thrust vectoring mechanism and completed its first tethered flights using an electric ducted fan before Launch Canada 2024, marking significant milestones!
With these real-time flight simulations providing valuable data, the project is now poised to transition its learnings into actual rocket implementations, bridging the gap between theoretical and practical rocketry.
