UBC Rocket
Design. Build. Fly.
ABOUT THE TEAM 🚀
We are a student engineering design team at the University of British Columbia dedicated to the design, manufacture, and launch of suborbital rockets. Currently, we have three active projects: a competition rocket built every year, an advanced liquid-fuel rocket engine and a thrust vectoring vehicle with the goal of self-landing capabilities.

Our Projects
COTS Competition Rocket
A yearly project to design, manufacture and fly a rocket at international competitions during the summer. This is an excellent project for those interested in learning about the design process of a rocket start to finish.
Liquid Bi-Propellant Rocket Engine
An ambitious project to build a liquid oxygen rocket engine with the goal of flying it in a competition rocket in the future. This team conducts frequent hotfiring tests to validate new design ideas.
Thrust Vectoring Rocket (TVR)
This project aims to demonstrate active stabilization and controlled landing in university-level rocketry. This software-intensive project employs PID control for active stabilization, with ongoing research into machine learning to enhance performance.
SPONSOR US
Any external support is invaluable to our projects since we rely on sponsorship and additional funding to launch rockets consistently. In return for your support, we would be honoured to have your company logo on our competition team apparel, website, social media, and of course, the rockets themselves!
